On June 12th, Professor Shen Yulong came to our office to conduct an exchange visit and make relevant reports. Shen Yulong is a professor and doctoral supervisor of the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Technology, Institute of Microbiology, Shandong University. He has been engaged in research on extreme thermophilic archaea for more than ten years, mainly using Sulfolobus sclerotium as a model archaea, studying the repair of archaeal DNA and maintenance of genomic stability, cell division and virus sprouting, and post-translational modification of the above process. Regulatory mechanism. At the same time, research is also carried out on the diversity of extreme microorganisms, the isolation, identification and application of thermophilic enzymes, and the utilization and improvement of the genetic manipulation system of Sulfolobus.
The report will be held in Room 111 of the Energy Building and will be hosted by Li Weili Researcher. At the meeting, Professor Shen Yulong gave a report entitled “Asymmetric Division Mechanism of DNA Repair of Sulfolobus Sulfolobus and Its Interaction with Membrane-coated Virus STSV2”. The report is divided into two parts, which respectively describe the structure and function analysis of the novel ATPase PINA involved in the migration of HJ structure in the process of DNA replication and homologous recombination of Sulfolobus sinensis, and the asymmetry of S. sulphate infected by STSV2 virus. Splitting mechanism. After the report, Professor Shen Yulong had an in-depth discussion and exchange with the guests.
After the meeting, Professor Shen Yulong also visited the molecular microbiology engineering team and conducted in-depth exchanges with the team's scientific research personnel. He gave constructive comments on the problems related to DNA damage and repair encountered in the research of scientific research personnel, and shared His own scientific research experience laid the foundation for further cooperation.
