Introduction
The C1 Biotechnology Research Center (CBRC) focuses on the significant demand for the biological conversion of one-carbon resources (such as CO2, CO, CH4). We tackle the bottlenecks in substrate conversion efficiency, conversion technologies, product synthesis, and engineering scale-up. Our research includes fundamental studies, technological breakthroughs, and engineering scale-up, and we have established an advanced research platform for one-carbon conversion. This platform consists of five research groups: Enzymatic C1 Conversion Group, CO2 artificial Biological Conversion Group, Clostridium Biotechnology Group, Yeast Biotechnology Group, and Fermentation Process and System Integration Group. We emphasize both fundamental and applied research to develop low-carbon green biomanufacturing. Our key focus areas are fuel ethanol, bulk proteins, and lipid products. We aim to establish integrated development technologies, break through the technological and cost bottlenecks that limit the commercialization of one-carbon, achieve industrial demonstrations, and contribute to the national dual-carbon strategy goals.
