Profile

Significant Achievements

(1) The electron disproportionation reaction based on flavin was discovered for the first time. This mechanism is widely present in anaerobic microorganisms and archaea. It is a novel energy metabolism mode discovered after substrate-level phosphorylation and electron transfer phosphorylation of microorganisms, laying the foundation for anaerobic fermentation metabolism and regulation. Our research group has carried out work on the transformation of CO, CO2, and H2 into alcohols, deciphering the energy metabolism and ethanol metabolism regulation mechanisms of anaerobic microorganisms. The fermentation of synthesis gas to produce ethanol has reached an international advanced level.

(2) The industrialization of seaweed oligosaccharides has been realized. Production lines have been established in Fujian LvKang Biochemical Co., Ltd. and Weifang Maikaajee Biological Technology Co., Ltd. The related research has won the 2021 Shandong Provincial Natural Science Second Prize. The technology for yeast production of neuroacids has applied for 2 international patents (PCT) and cooperated with Zhejiang Zhenyuan Co., Ltd. for the industrialization of neuroacids.
